The "50 Shades of Grey" casting wheel just keeps on turning. As E. L. James and Universal Studios take their sweet time choosing the right Christian and Anastasia, fan speculation continues to run wild. Certain "50 Shades" contenders repeatedly top fan polls and generate plenty of buzz, however, there seems to be one name in particular that has withstood the test of time. "White Collar" star Matt Bomer has long been included in "50 Shades" contention, and still rakes in the majority of fans' adornment.
Bomer has been featured in a handful of fan-made trailers for the film adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey," usually alongside "Gilmore Girls'" Alexis Bledel, and now even more 'Bomer for Christian' videos are gaining traction online. One in particular features not only the lovely Bomer and Bledel, but the entire cast as well, including the supporting roles. Fellow top Christian contender Ian Somerhalder plays Jack Hyde in the video that has accumulated more than 38,000 views since its debut on April 25. Check out the mock trailer below.
But if you think that's impressive, a separate "50 Shades" trailer featuring the same Bomer and Bledel combo, including a brief cameo from Blake Lively, who's also been tossed in the Anastasia arena, has generated nearly 900,000 in the past three months. Check it out below.
And the Bomer/Bledel love doesn't stop there. Two other fan-made trailers, which Latinos Post has previously touched upon, continue to rack up hits as fans desperately await the official casting decisions. The more recent of the two, which is only one month old, has more than 267,000 views while the original Bomer/Bledel mock trailer, which was posted roughly 10 months ago, sits pretty with more than a whopping 5 million hits. All other fan-made trailer featuring Christian hopefuls such as Somerhalder, Alex Pettyfer and Ryan Gosling hail in comparison. Granted, the trailer has been around for sometime, but the numbers don't lie.
Although Bomer sits upon the Christian Grey throne, neither James nor Universal has commented on his candidacy. They have remained silent. While we wait, however, it's still a joy to watch the mock trailers and let our imaginations run wild, so keep them coming!
