Zinedane Zidane is the man in charge of bringing Welsh star Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.
The former Madrid superstar has been sent to London to sort out a deal for the star midfielder, according to the UK's Daily Mail.
"Zinedine Zidane has been given the job of luring Tottenham's Gareth Bale to the Spanish capital, even if it costs £65 million. Spanish newspaper Marca has reported that former Galactico Zidane is the key adviser in the deal and he is trying to convince Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that Bale's signature is the only one that matters," the publication writes.
Real Madrid has amped up its interest in Bale after losing out on a chance to grab Brazilian phenom Neymar. The 21-year-old signed with Barcelona, leaving Madrid with the need to grab a marquee player for next season. The desire to grab Bale has been increased by continuous rumors that top star Cristiano Ronaldo is seeking a way out of the team.
If Ronaldo does leave, Bale would be Madrid's top star. Zidane has been vocal of his admiration for the 23-year-old and has even compared Bale with the likes of Ronaldo and Argentine superstar Lionel Messi.
"I've been watching Tottenham for the reason that Gareth Bale has been playing there," Zidane said.
"Aside from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, he is the player who has impressed me the most. All of the talented players like that can come to Real Madrid. Is he good enough for Real Madrid? Of course. He is more than good enough to play for Real Madrid."
"What has particularly impressed me is that he is consistent. He is consistently scoring spectacular goals and very important goals. He is very quick, skillful and exciting," he added.
Bale scored 30 goals in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur in 2012-13.
