It's a new week, and you know what that means: new "50 Shades of Grey" casting rumors. No matter how silent E. L. James and Universal Studios remain on the issue, the "50 Shades" wheel keeps on turning. Every week a new name pops up into the area while fans continue to drool over the top candidates. Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder remain fan poll champions for the role of Christian Grey, while a larger group of young starlets, such as Alexis Bledel and Emilia Clarke, battle for the role of Anastasia Steele. This week however, a few new candidates have entered contention. Although they may not be topping the ranks, they would surely make a handsome pair on the big screen.
"Pretty Little Liars'" Ashley Benson is now getting more "50 Shades" attention than she may have bargained for. Fans have considered her for the role ever since her co-star Lucy Hale began scoring more points among fan polls, but now that she's addressed the possibility in a recent interview, she's raising "50 Shades" eyebrows worldwide.
"Oh, man. I've been linked to that movie so many times," Benson said. "It's so funny. I don't know. It depends. It might be a bit of a stretch. I don't know if I could do all that... I loved the book. I mean amazing, great. I read all three books in a week, but the movie, I mean reading it and doing it is completely different." Truer words have never been said when it comes to "50 Shades of Grey."
On the other side of equation, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine is now stirring his own "50 Shades" buzz. In his recent and rather racy music video, Levine proves that he has the look and the gusto to get down and dirty on film. The video, "Love Somebody," hit YouTube last week and has already accumulated more than five million views. Some eager "50 Shades" fans have already linked to video to the singer's potential Christian Grey candidacy.
MannyEmZee: "Fifty Shades of Grey... Literally."
Morgan Kania: "If Fifty Shades of Grey was a movie, this would be it."
chencsa91: "maroon 5 in fifty shades of grey."
So what do you think? Clearly, James nor Universal are going to make a decision anytime soon, so it's up to the fans to keep the wheel turning. Watch Levine's new video and take the poll below.
