As May comes to a close and the heart of the summer approaches, fans countdown the days until next year's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" premiere. It's a long ways off, however, videos and photos from the set continue to pour in and provide Spidey enthusiasts with an early glimpse at the upcoming film.
The most recent photos to leak their way from the set feature a toddler Spider-Man standing aside Andrew Garfield, a pre-CG Rhino in an intriguing contraption, and a slew of others that show Garfield taking it easy around the set. Check out the entire set of photos here.
In other Spidey news, Jaime Foxx recently opened up about prepping for the role of Electro and his excitement for the "Amazing Spider-Man" sequel. Fans caught a first glimpse of Foxx decked out in costume last month, and now they're offered an even more in depth look into his role. As you can tell from the copious amounts of makeup that are lathered onto his face, it takes a long time to get in and out of costume, a process that's proved tedious and frustrating, but it's nothing a seasoned actor such as Foxx can't handle.
"Oh, man - it's so much fun. The costume is great. They were very creative with it," Foxx told Yahoo! Movies. "It's a couple hours - a couple hours of work, but it's really so much fun."
That's a lot of idle time for Foxx on a daily basis, but he makes the best of it. "I just chill," he said, adding that he didn't have any input on the costume design, which varies greatly from the one portrayed in the comic books. "Now I'm just waiting to get to Comic-Con and see how people respond to it. Marc Webb is a genius and Amy Pascal and everybody at Sony have just been so gracious to allow me to have this opportunity. So it's cool."
In "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," for Peter Parker, life is busy - between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away - but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
