Just when you thought things can't get happier in arguably the happiest place ever, it just does.
On May 24, Friday, three Disney theme parks opened its doors to guests for an entire day, as in 24 hours.
Kicking off its celebration of this year's summer, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts opened its parks from 6 a.m. of May 24 (Friday) up to 6 a.m. Saturday, May 25. Guests were able to enjoy the 24 hours of magic as Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort, as well as the Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World offered plenty of activities and happenings to keep visitors enjoying all throughout the day.
Celebrating the start of summer, the "Monstrous Summer" event offered unique park features that were especially created for the "all-nighter" event. These include Monster-themed merchandise and themed food kiosks and "boo-verages," reported The Wall Street Journal.
In Florida, the park opened up with a special parade that was headed by Monsters University characters, Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan (Sulley). Other Disney characters also joined the two in the opening parade, as well as the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade.
Fireworks display and live entertainment were offered to the guests of the park in California. As the park opened, park visitors were encouraged to hit the dance floor signalling the start of the all-day, all-night celebration.
WSJ also reported that at the Disney California Adventure Park, Monsters University dorms were built in Hollywoodland, while a Monsters University float led the Pixar Play Parade.
"I love it," shared a park visitor to The Orange County Register . "There are a bunch of high schools celebrating their graduation, and it's a really great way to meet other people ....It's like one big 24-hour family."
So far, this year's event went smoothly, without reports of traffic jam or injuries.
