There's no wonder why New York police took troubled star Amanda Bynes to undergo a psychological evaluation before bringing her into Manhattan's Central Bookings Thursday night.
The 26-year-old actress was arrested yesterday after the doorman in her NYC apartment building called 911to report that she was smoking marijuana in the lobby, acting erratically and talking to herself, reports NBC New York.
She returned to her 36th floor apartment when officers arrived. However, when Bynes opened the door for them, it reeked of marijuana and they saw a bong inside of it. She allegedly then grabbed the smoking device and tossed it out of the window. She was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, felony tampering with evidence and criminal possession of marijuana.
As if things weren't already strange enough about her behavior, the former child star was wearing a messy platinum blonde wig that covered most of her face. E! News published photos taken at the scene showing Bynes in handcuffs wearing a long-sleeved black Versace shirt, gray sweatpants and high-tops. In addition, Us Weekly released the mugshot of Bynes at the Midtown Precinct North station in NYC at 7:42 p.m.
A source confirmed to E! News that Bynes' legs were also shackled as she was taken to the Manhattan jail.
She also reportedly yelled at police stating, "Don't you know who I am?"
Before being booked, Bynes was taken to Roosevelt Hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Us Weekly reports that Bynes was seen being led into a local courthouse for her court appearance and leaving via taxicab just past 11 a.m. Friday morning.
Bynes pleaded no contest in California two weeks ago to driving on a suspended license and was sentenced to three years' summary probation and still has a DUI charge pending in Beverly Hills.
