When it comes to national security, it's all business. That's why "Homeland" producers are beefing up their cast in anticipation of the upcoming third season. It most recent casting news, it's Amy Morton's turn to join the cast of the hit Showtime series.
Morton, who plays Catherine Walsh in the Starz series "Boss," will take on the recurring role of Erin Kimball, Carrie Mathison's CIA appointed attorney, according to TVLine.
Walsh won't be the only one to join the "Homeland" crew however. Tracy Letts, from "Prison Break," will also be hopping on board as Senator Andrew Lockhart, a powerful and commanding Committee Chairman.
As previously reported, other characters will be taking on less prominent roles in the upcoming season. Diego Klattenhoff, known as "Uncle Mike," has recently taken a back seat in production and will not be back as a series regular in season 3. The details surrounding his demotion are still not clear, however, it's very likely that Klattenhoff will return in a recurring role.
At the end of season 2, Mike's role in the show was essentially wrapped, so the news doesn't come as much surprise, however, fans will be glad to know that he's not gone for good.
As Showtime previously revealed, season 3 of "Homeland" picks up "during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world's most wanted terrorist - Nick Brody. As Carrie and Saul begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody's whereabouts."
"Homeland" will return to Showtime Sunday, September 29 at 9 p.m. EST.
