Fashion Model Jaydy Michel has been chosen as Elsa Benitez's replacement in Mexico's Next Top Model upcoming season which will be released in August on Sony Entertainment Television. The actress said she was happy to be back in Mexico in a statement released to the press.
"I owe a lot to Mexico and what a better way to go back to the country I love with a new job," said the model.
Michel, who is married to Mexican footballer Rafael Marquez, said her husband has been great support in this new television challenge.
Michel added that new faces always provide freshness to any project, and that she will try to relax for the tense moments on the notoriously dramatic show because that is the way she has always been.
She also shared that, for the time being, she will be living in Mexico City and at the end of the reality show's season she will make her way toward San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, to join her husband who is currently a defender for the Leon team.
"This will be a very fun season, my idea is to help aspiring models in a closer way, much as if I were their mom, a young mom that is," said Michel, stressing that discipline and accountability are traits that are essential to modeling.
Michel said that she tried to convey her experiences in the field to the aspiring models, while at the same time emphasizing that being authentic is another key issue in the race.
"My job is to help these young women find their own way," she said.
The Jalisco-native added that this reality show will allow the audience to realize how much hard work there is behind a model, that it's not everything to sit behind a stylist and a makeup artist to look good, but that there really is hard work behind it all.
The Mexican model also hinted that she hopes to venture into the acting realm soon, noting that she has already done some work for Spanish television.
The fourth season of Mexico's Next Top Model will be hosted by Michel, while the expert opinion will be led by fashion photographer Allan Fis with Glenda Reyna and Oscar Madrazo joining in as consultants. Antonio Gonzalez de Cosio will also join the team as a specialist.
In this season, which is expected to start in August, the production team has shortlisted 20 young aspiring models, but only 13 will make the cut and move on to live in the top house.
