One of NASCAR's signature events takes place on Saturday as some of racing's finest stars will be revving up their motors for the 2013 NASCAR All-Star Race.
After winning a pole at the race on Friday, Carl Edwards will be starting at the pole position on Saturday. Edwards is dedicating the race to the memory of short-track legend Dick Trickle, who took his own life Thursday.
Calling Trickle "a hero to over half the crew," Edwards gave his family his sympathies while looking ahead to the race.
"Hopefully his family is doing as best they can," Edwards told USA Today. "Hopefully he's in a better place and we're honoring him by doing that."
Edwards isn't the only star that will be gracing the track for NASCAR during Saturday's race. NASCAR rookie and race track superstar Danica Patrick will also be in the race, looking to make more waves after becoming the first woman to capture a pole position earlier this year during the Daytona 500.
Another big star, Kyle Busch, will also be onhand to put the petal to the metal as he looks to grab the $1 million purse that goes to the winner of the All-Star race.
"If I were a sports bookie, I'd put a 300-to-1 on it," Busch (pictured) told NASCAR.com's George Winkler. "You have to run each segment as hard as you can. You have to stay out front to keep your average finish as high as you can. There's going to be a lot of things playing out in between the segments with pit stops, tire strategy...It's certainly going to make it a lot more fun, not only for the fans but for the crew chiefs as well."
