"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has long been one of television's most popular comedy series. Over the course of eight seasons, it has established itself as one of the most notable and quotable. The show is approaching its ninth and likely penultimate season, but there are plenty of laughs left to be had. With the new season just several months away, here's what fans can expect.

In recent "Always Sunny" news, the gang pairs up with "Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to write one of the episodes for the upcoming season. It's hard to visualize what a cross breed of "Always Sunny" and "Game of Thrones" will look like, but fans will find out soon enough.

Weiss and Benioff won't be the only newcomers to play a role in the ninth season. Aaron Paul from "Breaking Bad" will also be making an appearance along with, of course, the entire gang, and per usual, they'll be wreaking havoc all over Philadelphia. A recently tweeted photo from Kaitlin Olson, who plays Dee, the daughter of Danny Devito and scapegoat of the gang, shows Devito all inked up. There's no way to tell how the blue ink will play into the subsequent episode, but it's bound to be absurd. Check out the photo below.

One specific episode is titled "Mac Day" and features, you guessed it, Mac as he drags the gang to a bodybuilding event where they meet guest star Sean Williams Scott. We all know how Mac gets when it comes to "cultivating mass." "Mac Day" promises to be yet another unforgettable "Always Sunny" episode.

Although currently working on its ninth season, "Always Sunny" was given the green light for a tenth season, which will help FX launch its new network, FXX. The new network will be geared toward a younger audience, embracing a comedic focus that will cater to their targeted age demographic. The network will launch September 2.

Season 9 will return to FX this fall, although they have yet to announce an official premiere date.
