Award winning filmmaker and television producer J.J. Abrams is adding another dynamic drama to his resume called ‘Almost Human.’ The action drama, which is set 35 years in the future, was announced by Fox earlier this week as part of the fall 2013 lineup.

Fox teases that ‘Almost Human’ stars Karl Urban as John Kennex and Michael Ealy as Dorian in “a high-tech, high-stakes action drama set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. An unlikely partnership is forged when a part-machine cop (Urban) is forced to pair with a part-human robot (Ealy) as they fight crime and investigate a deeper cover-up in a futuristic new world.”

A trailer for the new show likens it to Alex Proyas' 2004 film "I, Robot," but with robots that are much more life-like. Urban's character is first paired up with an "MX" partner, a human-like robot that serves to protect city cops, but after throwing his robot partner out of a moving car John Kennex gets paired up with Dorian, a "DRN" robot.

Dorian isn't like the other "MX" robots as he aptly states, "MX units are logic based and rule oriented. They have no true free will and they are designed to feel nothing. I'm not like them. Now I can't say I was born, but I was made to feel. And I do, as much as you."

'Almost Human' premieres late fall on FOX, will you be watching?
