Production on the fourth season of AMC's "The Walking Dead" is well underway, and although the premiere is set for October, fans still can't get enough of the zombie action. In recent news that's tricked its way down from the set, it looks like season four could prove trying for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus).
Rick and Daryl may be on the same team, but there are times when comradery just makes things worse. It's far worse to not trust an ally than an enemy. A previous spoiler revealed that someone Rick trusts will betray him, and if the series sticks close to the comic books, like writer/executive producer Robert Kirkman promised, that person could be Daryl.
Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) becomes Rick's right-hand man and co-leader of the group in season 4, which could cast Daryl aside. He won't be forgotten, but it will be interesting to see how he responds to the new chain of command. There will be a generous time jump between season 3 and season 4, and in such a tattered, zombie-infested world, a lot can happen in no time at all.
Kirkman himself affirmed the developing bond between Tyreese and Rick. "There's some really, really cool and big stuff that people have been expecting, or that people have been anticipating from the comics, that will work into Season 4," he said. "To give a hint, I will say that we do have Tyreese and Rick, who are now united, which is a big moment for the comic book fans. There's a lot of story that comes from those two guys being on the same side. We'll possibly see a bit of that in Season 4"
In other "Walking Dead" news, AMC has revealed the first set photo from the upcoming season. It features an oblivious Rick, trudging through the forest with a ragged zombie hot on his tails. Check out the photo here.
"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC this October.
