It's here. Graduation day in Mystic Falls. The season 4 of "The Vampire Diaries" wraps this Thursday with a celebration of the students' high school accomplishments. Well, "accomplishments" may be the wrong word, but they've certainly come a long way in the past four seasons. We've seen death, rebirth and everything in between, and Thursday's finale will provide more of exactly that.
During the final episode, "Graduation," Mystic Falls will see at least one vampire take the coveted cure while another will return from the dead. And of course, what's a proper graduation without death?
But the person to steal the show will be none other than, that's right, Elena (Nina Dobrev). E! Online reports that Elena will finally choose one Salvatore brother and take part in one of the series' most shocking twists, according to Fashion & Style.
"While we won't reveal which Salvatore brother our heroine chooses, we can assure you that she does in fact pick one... As for the other brother, fret not as he'll have more than enough to deal with that not landing the girl (for now) will hardly register. Start prepping for one of the series' best twists ever, basically!"
On top of the typical Elena drama with the Salvatore brothers, she'll also engage in "an epic battle" with Katherine during the finale, according to executive producer Julie Plec.
"When we started breaking Katherine's journey for the season, we knew we wanted to lead to a vampire confrontation between the two," she said. "The idea of having Elena finally being strong enough to at least put up a good fight felt like an opportunity we couldn't miss. I think Nina [Dobrev], as the hardest-working girl in show business this season, for sure, was just like, 'Oh my god, this is gonna be difficult,' but was really excited about it. She had to shoot the sequence on a Saturday, just her playing both roles, two stunt girls, a film crew, and a lot of knock-down-drag-out goodness."
It's unclear who will come out on top, but there will definitely be a winner, "and it will no be pretty," Plec added. How could Elena lose with the support of her new one and only Salvatore brother?
The season 4 finale of "The Vampire Diaires" will air this Thursday, May 16 on The CW. Watch the trailer below.
