ABC is pulling the plug on a number of its shows, while renewing a couple for coming seasons.
Topping the list of shows that are getting the boot is "Happy Endings." The show which started to air in April 2011, has had a problem with keeping the ratings high ever since. In its three seasons, the show has jumped from one time slot to another: skipping from Tuesday to Sunday and to Friday.
The cast has also been constantly encouraging people to watch the show in an attempt to keep it running on ABC.
"Watch us Friday so that we stay on the air...but if you're watching in any capacity, God bless you," said Casey Wilson in a report by Huffington Post.
Despite its relatively small following, the fans of "Happy Endings" have been very vocal about their support to the show. And with its cancellation, many of them have taken to social media their disappointment for ABC's move--including celebrities fans.
"The cancellation of #happyendings is criminal. Boo," tweeted actress, Elizabeth Banks.
"Well, it happened. Happy Endings got canceled. If you didn't realize how funny that show was, I blame you," a fan also tweeted.
Joining the TV series are a number of other shows that ABC is also ending. These include "Body of Proof," "How to Live with Your Parents," "Malibu Country" and "Red Widow."
Not to lose heart though, ABC viewers will be happy to hear that a number of its series have also been renewed for another season. Fans of "Castle," "The Middle," "Scandal" and "Suburgatory" can all enjoy the shows as they come back on TV for another series of episodes. These shows will also join other renewed shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "Modern Family," "Nashville," "Revenge" and "Once Upon a Time."
Huffington Post also reported that the channel also picked up a number of comedy shows for its 2013-2014 season. Expect to see Rebel Wilson on a new show called "Super Fun Night," while family comedies "The Goldbergs" and "Back in the Game" will also be making its way to TV soon.
Spinoff "Once Upon a Time in Woderland" and Christian Slater's "Mind Games" are also expected to be seen on ABC this coming season.
