Will there be a Game 6? The Montreal Canadiens sure hope they can find a way to defeat the red hot Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.
The Canadiens blew a 2-0 lead in Game 4 before losing 3-2 in overtime and pushing themselves to the brink of elimination from the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"We can beat these guys. We're better," said Montreal defenseman P.K. Subban. "Guys are going to realize when we're coming out the gates and we're flying that we're the better team and there's still life in this series for us."
The team may have to learn to win without number one goalie Carey Price as he is listed as a day-to-ay with a lower-body injury. Forwards Brandon Prust and Ryan White will not be available for the elimination match either.
The Senators feel confident that they can close out the series.
"It's nice to know that we can persevere in a game," said defenseman Eric Gryba about his team's effort. "We kind of laid an egg in the first half of the game or even arguably the first two periods, so to be able to come back and show the character that's in this locker room and battle back to win the game is really a testament to our leadership and the guys in this locker room."
The Senators have a 7-0 record when leading a series 3-1. However, the team has not won three straight playoff games since 2007.
Prediction: Montreal extends the series with a 4-2 win.
