Henry Cavill revealed that Superman's weakness in the anticipated film "Man of Steel" is his own confusion and sense of isolation.

The actor told F*** magazine, "There's a very real story behind the Superman character." Cavill explained "everyone's goal has been to explore the difficulties his character faces as a result of having multiple identities -- including his birth name, Kal-El, and his alter ego, Clark Kent."

He added "He's alone and there's no one like him. That must be incredibly scary and lonely, not to know who you are or what you are, and trying to find out what makes sense. Where's your baseline? What do you draw from? Where do you draw a limit with the power you have? In itself, that's an incredible weakness."

"Man of Steel" tells the story of a young journalist who is forced to confront his secret extraterrestrial heritage when Earth is invaded by members of his race.

The film was directed by Zack Snyder who is best known for his work on "Watchman" and "300." He also directed "Sucker Punch" and "Legend of Guardians: The Owl of Ga'Hoole." Christopher Nolan produced the film after having directed "The Dark Knight" series, "Inception" and "The Prestige." He is currently directing "Interstellar" with Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Anne Hathaway.

"Man of Steel" also stars Michael Shannon as General Zod, Lawrence Fishburne as Perry White, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

The film will open at the Los Angeles Film festival on June 12th and will be released nationwide in theaters on June 14, 2013. It is rated PG-13 for for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.
