There are only two episodes remaining in season 4 of "The Vampire Diaries," and in anticipation of the finale, Mystic Falls gets even eerier. During this week's episode, titled "The Walking Dead," ghosts will make their way into town. Ghosts and vampires, the perfect combination.
In the upcoming episode, preparations for graduation day are in full swing. Caroline (Candice Accola) hopes that the mundane task of sending out graduation announcements will help distract Elena (Nina Dobrev) from her obsession with killing Katherine (Dobrev).
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are informed that someone is attacking the patients at the hospital as Silas prepares for something big. Bonnie (Kat Graham) still refuses to give up on her plan to destroy Silas, and all the while ghosts begin to appear in Mystic Falls after a vicious windstorm, and they don't look too friendly.
Producer Julie Plec informed fans that "we start to have some ghosts coming through from the other side. It's a nice collection of faces that will make us happy, and then some faces we thought we probably shouldn't see again." Plec also revealed that one vampire will take the cure, however fans will have to wait and find out who for themselves.
The dead arrive in Mystic Falls just in time for graduation, which will take place during the season 4 finale. While diplomas are handed out, the dead will be intent on settling old battles, which can't be good for anyone, especially Damon and Caroline. What a perfect way to ruin graduation, but what more can we expect from "The Vampire Diaries?" It wouldn't be fitting if graduation didn't end in a bloodbath.
Unfortunately, the photos from "The Walking Dead" don't show any ghosts, but they do feature a malicious looking Bonnie and a suspicious Katherine lurking through the woods. Check them out above.
Two new video clips from the upcoming episode have also been released. In the first clip, Caroline and Stefan are inside the school as they try to track down Bonnie in hopes of preventing her from performing a dangerous spell that will ultimately lower the veil, allowing the ghosts to cross over in Mystic Falls.
In the 2nd clip, Caroline and Elena seem to be getting along once again now that Elena's humanity has returned. However, when Katherine's name comes up in the conversation, things quickly turn sour. Watch both clips below.
