Released quarterback Tim Tebow's football career still remains uncertain. But in the meantime, Forbes named the orphaned signal caller the most influential athlete in sports in 2013, while reports reveal that ESPN and Fox Sports are eyeing Tebow as a possible candidate for a spot on television.
Forbes, using Nielsen and E-Poll to conduct a poll, posted the results of their online survey designed to determine which athletes had the most influence on American sports fans.
With 29 percent declaring that they felt Tebow was the most "influential," the quarterback without a team took the top spot.
Forbes did not say how many people were involved in the survey, but told ESPN.com that more than 1,000 participated in the poll.
The New York Jets said goodbye to Tebow last week after a one-year stint with the team.
And while the future looks bleak these days for the pious QB, Tebow may just have a career in TV to fall back on if the whole football thing doesn't pan out.
ESPN is reportedly interested in having Tebow join their broadcasting lineup as a college football analyst, according to the New York Daily News.
But while there is not much desire for Tebow on the gridiron, other networks — like Fox — are reportedly pursuing the University of Florida icon in the television realm.
There are also reports that Fox Sports wants Tebow for its new all-sports cable station, Fox Sports One, and that CBS may be interested in the quaterback as well, according to NESN.
