Details concerning Kanye West's new album continue to pour in. Ever since the 'voice of a generation' announced that the album was finished, rumors of a likely June 18 release flooded the Internet. Although West has yet to confirm the date publically, new details concerning the upcoming album have been released.
It's been known that Daft Punk will likely make an appearance on the album, as the group's Thomas Bangalter previously told Rolling Stone. "He was rapping - kind of screaming primally." Interesting. It doesn't seem quite up Daft Punk's alley, but it fits West's unpredictably lavish nature perfectly.
Daft Punk won't be the only featured artist on the new album. His good friends 2 Chainz, John Legend, Odd Future, Chief Keef and Skrillex will also join West on his next musical endeavor. The wide array of artists will make for an interesting album, but if there's one thing the rapper is good at, it's finding new sounds and making them work. There's no doubt that his sixth studio album will fall short of extraordinary. No matter the quality of his songs, West manages time and time again to break the mold and set the trend, something that few other artists have achieved.
West is scheduled to appear on "Saturday Night Live" on May 18, where it's rumored that he may announce the official release date for his new album as well as perform the first single live. As previously reported, he's made it clear that doesn't want to hear any jokes regarding Kim Kardashian's weight. Although his girlfriend may be pregnant, she's overly sensitive about Mother Nature's side effects and is tired of hearing about it everywhere she goes. West and Kardashian are expecting their first child shortly after the rapper's scheduled SNL performance, and hopefully the official announcement of his new album.
Fans may not hear anything from West before his May 18 SNL appearance, but we can still keep our fingers crossed for some new music. His performance is exactly one month before the rumored release date, so perhaps the puzzle pieces will all fall into place seamlessly.
