With "The Vampire Diaries" winding down, vampire lovers are turning elsewhere for their next bite. Luckily, "True Blood" is right around the corner. The sixth season premieres June 16 with "Who Are You, Really?" In anticipation of the upcoming season, a new trailer hit the web this past weekend featuring half naked vampires, plenty of blood and ruthless SWAT team vampire hunters. The 90-second preview proves that season six will keep fans on the edge of their seats as vampire war comes to Bon Temps.
The new trailer features all the "True Blood" regulars, but the most intriguing is Bill (Stephen Moyer). It looks like a vicious vampire God has replaced the humble sweetheart fans have come to know and love. The laser-sight automatic weapons seem to have little affect on the bloodthirsty killer, and if the vampire hunters can't stop him, it will be up to his fellow brethren.
The trailer also introduces several new characters. The bald man who claims "it's time for humans to bite back" looks like Governor Burrell, the demonic looking creature with long hair and sharp fangs who summons himself on the bridge must be Warlow, and Sookie's new hookup is likely to be "EastEnders" actor Rob Kazinsky, who will play a central role as Sookie's main squeeze in season six.
A couple looming questions remain however. First, where is Luna (Janina Gavankar)? She's nowhere to be seen in the trailer, which spawns some worrisome speculations. And second, is it true the first episode will be the last for Eric (Alexander Skarsgard)? Rumors have indicated so, but nothing has been confirmed. Fans will just have to wait and see.
"True Blood" will return to HBO June 16 at 9 p.m. The first episode, "Who Are You, Really?" is directed by none other than Moyer, who's villainous character Bill will likely steal the spotlight. Watch the new trailer below.
