On May 3rd, HBO Latino will premiere "The King Stays King: Sold Out at Madison Square Garden."
The Romeo Santos concert will feature never before seen footage and interviews with the renowned artist. It also includes duets with some of music's biggest names in both mainstream and Latin music such as Usher, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Wisin y Yandel, and Luis Vargas.
The film premiered on April 30 in New York City where the king of the bachata attended with a number of Latino celebrities. During the red carpet he said "I am very happy with the end result. It was a good day."
Santos recently released a CD of the same name and from the same concert. The title "The King Stays King" refers to an ongoing world tour he commenced in 2011 to promote his album. He began in New York and traveled throughout North America, South America and Europe.
The album topped the Latin Billboards and the Tropical albums. It also rose to number 65 on the billboard 200. Prior to his solo career, the American-born singer was the lead vocalist in the group "Aventura" with which he recorded nine albums and three live concert albums. His first solo album Formula, Vol. 1 was released in 2011. He was recently nominated for the Grammy award and for seven Premios Lo Nuestro. He was also recognized by his fans at the annual awards show "premios Juventud."
The Concert will air on HBO Latino at 8pm/7c.
