After coming up short in his Masters bid last month, World's no.1 golfer Tiger Woods returns to action next week at the Players' Championship, perhaps the only tournament in the PGA Tour in which he doesn't boast a winning record.

Golf enthusiast and followers of the world's most famous golfer will have their first glance on Tiger after tying for fourth place in the first Grand Slam of the Year in Augusta, Georgia.

Woods, who has yet to win a major title since the 2008 US Open, has just made a commitment to play in the Players Championship this week after skipping the Well Fargo Championship.

Woods doesn't have a pretty record coming into the tournament, in which he placed T14, T11, T16, T53, T22, T37, DNP, 8, WD, WD, and T40 last year. His only victory at the Players Champions took place right after he won his second Masters crown in 2001.

However, Tiger's record after the Masters hasn't been superb over the last five years. Woods failed to make the cut twice, withdrew once and placed fourth during that span. His only post-Masters victory happened in 2008.

Many golfers expect Tiger to struggle again in the Players Championship, although the top-ranked golfer has recently started showing more consistency in his game.

Meanwhile, the Wells Fargo Championship is expected to be a more open race with Woods out of the picture.

Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Rory McIlroy, Bubba Watson, and Lee Westwoods are the favorites heading into the tourney but guys like Nick Watney and Webb Simpson could make it more interesting.

All in all, 156 players will gather in Quail Hallow Club for a shot at the Wells Fargo Championship trophy.

First-round of the tournament starts on Thursday with the group of Garcia, Simpson and Haas making their first tee at 7:30.A.M
