Academy Award winner Michael Arndt filmed a satirical video of his first day writing the script to the new "Star Wars" film. The video shows Arndt revisiting "Toy Story 3," getting food delivered, and playing with action figures. At one point he even tries to call J.J Abrams and tell him that he would quit because he was overwhelmed.
Arndt is currently writing the script to the film which is expected in two years. The writer won an Oscar for "Little Miss Sunshine" and later penned the script to "Toy Story 3." He last wrote "The Hunger Games Catching Fire" which will be released later this year.
Arndt recently gave a screenwriting lecture in which he stated "as a writer I'm a big believer in endings. I think the ending of your story is when the meaning of your story is really revealed. But I also think that I just in terms of in setting up the story a good story for me at least always involves a character right before the climax making this taking at the size of action or making an important decision and usually you are going to make that decision is difficult as possible ... just to be didactic about it you know, you are trying to have your character make a meaningful decision and really push them into the corner."
"Star Wars Episode VII" is currently in pre-production with Producer Kathleen Kennedy and director Abrams as the film's major contributors. Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill are expected to reprises their role from the original series but nothing has been confirmed.
Dwyane Johnson, Kerri Russell, Diane Kruger have all shown interest in the new film but casting has yet to begin. Abrams has vowed to keep production as closed off as possible as he did with last films.
Disney is set to unveil "Star Wars Episode VII" in 2015.
