On April 25th the Billboard Latin Music Awards will hand out their prestigious accolades to the very best in Latin music.
Don Omar leads the way with 18 nominations including Artist of the Year and Male Album of the Year.
Jenni Rivera will also compete for artist of the year as well as Female Song of the Year, Female Album of the Year and Album of the Year. Interestingly enough Rivera will compete against herself for Album of the Year with "La Misma Senora" and "Joyas Prestadas."
Prince Royce and Romeo Santos will also compete against Omar and Rivera for Artist of the Year.
3Ball MTY, Juan Magan, Jesus Ojeda y Sus Parientes and Michel Telo will compete for the New Artist of the Year. The nominees for this award were chosen based on the success of their first album; a requirement was that their album was on the billboard charts after November 12, 2011.
Chris Brown, Rhianna, Flo Rida and PSY will compete for the prestigious Crossover Artist of the Year while Vicente Fernandez, Marc Anthony, Chayanne, Marc Antonio Solis, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez and MANA will battle in the Tour of the Year category.
Other notable stars nominated for awards include Shakira, Pitbull, Wisin y Yandel, Ricardo Arjona, Daddy Yankee, Gerardo Ortiz, Chino y Nacho, Leslie Grace and Il Volo.
Many of the top record companies that are also nominated include Sony, Universal, Warner Latina, Fonovisa and Venemusic.
Major stars expected to arrive on the red carpet include Gaby Espino, Miguel Varoni, Jean Carlos Canela, Juan Soler, Ana Barbara and Adamari Lopez.
Royce and Iglesias previously won the most awards including Artist of the Year.
