"Man of Steel" is one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the 2013 summer season. The film is slated to arrive in theaters on June 14, but a select number of fans can actually earn a chance to see the movie a day early. How?
Warner Bros. and Walmart are teaming up to promote the film and give fans a chance to see the film before anyone else. According to the New York Times, Walmart customers can purchase tickets for the early screenings starting May 18. The promotion is set to include one million tickets and should sell out quickly. According to the publication prices will vary.
"You hear these staggering numbers of how many people walk through a Walmart every day, and that gives us an exposure that we really can't put a dollar number on," said Warner's president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman in the Times article.
"Man of Steel" will star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent (Superman), Lawrence Fishburne as Perry White, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. Michael Shannon will also play the villain General Zod. The film, which was directed by Zack Snyder ("Watchmen"), has received a PG-13 rating and will come out in theaters on June 14, 2013. David Goyer ("Batman Begins") wrote the script while Christopher Nolan ("The Dark Knight," "The Dark Knight Rises") served as producer on the Superman film.
