We're getting closer. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" release is now only a summer away. We've seen set photos, posters, and we finally caught a glimpse of the official teaser trailer. Since the first installment of "The Hunger Games" hit theaters, we've been dreaming about "Catching Fire." Well, it's no longer a dream. It's here. We're getting closer.
To add to the excitement, Elizabeth Banks, who stars as Effie Trinket in "The Hunger Games" series, tells fans in a recent interview with Extra that "Catching Fire" will be better than they could have imagined.
"You know, it's coming out in November," Banks said. "It's amazing, it's almost like an upgrade from the first film in that you really get to see the capital, you really get to see the Victory tour, and we get to see all the districts. So just world building, in a bigger way... we really get to expand on it. You know, it's not just District 12 and the games, but also all the districts, and the capitol, and the Hunger Games. I mean, it's like a lot piled into this movie."
Banks recently won the award at CinemaCon for Excellence in Acting this past weekend. She dazzled fans in "Hunger Games" in her role as Trinket, the exotically dressed escort of the District 12 tributes, which include Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). She's known for her Capitol accent, upbeat attitude toward the Games, and the infamous phrase, "may the odds be ever in your favor."
Fans have also forever admired her eccentric Capitol costumes. During the interview, Banks explains that she often had to change into different costumes in front of thousands of extras, admitting that the horrifying task turned humorous on numerous occasions. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will hit theaters November 22 via Lionsgate.
