Earlier this week, we finally got a taste of Daft Punk's upcoming Random Access Memories. After a long, dreadful drought, the synth pop duo has returned with their first studio single since 2005. The track, "Get Lucky," has reminded us why Daft Punk are one of the most dynamic, successful electronic groups of all time. Their chopped funk grooves, Pharrell Williams' smooth ascending harmonies, and Nile Rodgers' funky guitar licks blend perfectly with a top layer of disco synth to create the sounds that will score the approaching summer.

Since "Get Lucky debuted Friday morning at 12 a.m., it has received over 600,000 views and quickly climbed to the top of the iTunes Top 10 Songs list. Fans can't enough of it, and neither can Williams. The singer/producer performed the song as his own at the HTC One launch party in Brooklyn. Williams performed "Get Lucky" for the first time ever, and the second, and the third. He played the song three times in a row, relishing in its greatness and showing off his vocal prowess. Check out 11 minutes of "Get Lucky" below.

Although it may seem like Williams took Daft Punk's song and made it his own, they share a close relationship. In the latest episode of an interview series promoting Random Access Memories called "The Collaborators," Pharrell talks about working with the band and how they reached out to him to collaborate on "Get Lucky." It's clear that Daft Punk and Williams have a mutual respect for each other as music legends, and although "Get Lucky" will appear on Daft Punk's new album, it's a shared project. They created it together. Daft Punk wants Williams to enjoy the track. They cherish their reputation and legend over their commercial success, which makes them that much better.

Random Access Memories will hit stores May 21 and promises to follow in their previous albums' footsteps and rock the music industry.
