The Cannes Film festival announced that Emma Watson's new film "The Bling Ring" will open the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.

'The festival announced that Coppola would return to Cannes after having premiered her 2006 "Marie Antoinette" and her first film "The Virgin Suicides."

Coppola stated that she was very happy with the selection and added "'Marie-Antoinette' was in competition in 2006, I presented my first film 'Virgin Suicides' at the Directors' Fortnight and I am very proud now to open Un Certain Regard with my new film that will be screened for the first time before an audience. I can't wait to be there..." 

"The Bling Ring" tells the story of a group of fame-obsessed teenagers who use the internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes.

The film also stars Taissa Farmiga, Isreal Broussard, Erin Daniels and Leslie Mann.  

The Festival also announced that Danish director Thomas Vinterberg will be the President of the jury for the section. Vinterberg previously screened his first film "The Celebration" which won the Jury Prize and last year screened "The Hunt" for which his leading actor Mads Mikkelsen won the Best Actor Award.

The festival is also schedule to unveil Joel and Ethan Coen's Inside "Llewyn Davis," Sundance winner "Fruitvale Station" and James Gray "The Immigrant" starring Marion Cotillard and Joaquin Phoenix.

 "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire will open the festival while "Zulu" starring Orlando Bloom and Forest Whitaker will close it. Steven Spielberg (Lincoln) will be the president of this year's jury, and Palme d'Or winner Jane Campion (Bright Star) will preside over the short-film jury.

Audrey Tatou will host the opening and closing ceremonies.

The festival's officially commences on May 15th and the Un Certain Regard section will open on May 16th with its award ceremony on May 25th.
