Universal studios announced that they will release the sequel to "Snow White and The Huntsman" in 2015.
The studio announced the news during their presentation at Cinemacon. They announced that there would be a new Snow White film and that it would put extra emphasis on Chris Hemsworth's character, the Huntsman. However there was no mention of whether Charlize Theorn or Kristen Stewart would be returning to the series.
The studio also announced that it would release a "Fast and Furious 7" as well as a "Pitch Perfect 2." The news of "Pitch Perfect" comes after Rebel Wilson hinted that there would be a sequel during her rehearsals for the MTV Movie Awards and after the cast reunited during the awards ceremony.
"Snow White and the Huntsman" became one of Universal's most lucrative films in recent times. The studio made $155 million domestically and $396 million worldwide. The film also got even more attention after its star Stewart and director Rupert Sanders had an affair. The studio then had a falling out with director and therefore he will most likely not return to the series.
Universal has 12 films slated for release this year including this weekend's "Oblivion" which slated to win the box office. They will also release Ron Howard's "Rush," "Kick Ass 2," "Despicable Me 2," and "About Time."
