10:22: MGH doctor says almost all amputees were total amputees, adding that doctors were only completing what the bomb already started.
10:13: Mass General Hospital Update: 8 are in serious condition, had to undergo surgery with some getting amputations. "Patients are sick, but in a stable condition." Doctor says that shrapnel was removed from patients. Four amputations have been done; two limbs in "at risk" of amputation. Doctor says all patients American. Victims range from 20-years-old to 70-years-old. Most of the patients are conscious, but some are medically sedated. Doctor said between 6-8 are medically sedated. Prognosis will "probably be okay." "Still things to be done," says doctor. First patients may be ready to be released in a few days.

9:56: Boston Police: crime scene has been reduced from 15 blocks to 12 blocks. Expect area to be active investigation site for days.
9:50: Boston.com reporting that several area-college students were injured in the blast. Three Tufts students, seven Emerson College students and a Boston University student are among the injured. The students from Tufts and Emerson College all recieved non-life threatening injuries. However, Boston University's president reported that the BU student was in critical condition.
9:47: FBI SA Richard DesLauriers says that no additional threats after the bombing. He said, bomb blast still an "active investigation."
9:43: Boston Mayor Menino takes over the presser, talks about the heros of yesterday's incident and asks Bostonians to continue to pull together. A resource center has been set up in the city. "This is a bad day for Boston. But Boston will overcome," Menino said.
9:41: Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick heads the press conference this morning. He says the FBI has taken over the investigation and that only two bombs--the ones that exploded--were found. Over 150 people were injured in the blast. Patrick says people should expect heightened security in Boston.

9:33: Boston authorities are scheduled to release the latest updates in a press conference. Mass General Hospital will hold a press briefing at 10:00 a.m.
9:30: The first victim of the explosions has been identified as Dorchester-native 8-year-old Martin Richards, who along with his mother and sister, was waiting for his father to finish the race. According to the Boston Globe, Martin's mother and sister suffered "grevious injuries."
Officials said that the victim counts stands at three dead and at least 144 people hospitalized. CNN is reporting that at least 17 people are in critical condition and 25 are in serious condition. It's also reporting that at least 8 of the patients are children.
Boston.com reported that the Lenox Hotel is making plans to open back up for guest this morning so they can retrieve their belongings. The Mandarin Oriental Boston and Charlesmark Hotel remain closed.
Yesterday two explosions killed at least three people at the 117th Boston Marathon and left over 100 injured. As of today, police have not taken anyone into custody for questioning. The Boston FBI Division has asked anyone with information or images to please contact them. "No piece of information or detail is too small," it said yesterday.
CNN is reporting that a Saudi college student, who was injured in the blast, was being questioned by police, but is not being considered a suspect.
The blast occurred at 2:50 p.m., a few hours after the elite runners had ended their run, the Boston Globe reported. A law enforcement official told the paper that about 30 people were taken to hospitals under Code Red, which could signify a rise in the death toll.
