Emma Watson is now back in the running for the "50 Shades of Grey" movie, and this time it's confirmed. Jonah Hill, a man known for his unwavering candor and serious demeanor, confirmed at the MTV Movie Awards last night that he and Emma Watson will star as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the upcoming "50 Shades" film. Our prayers have been answered! They make a perfect couple for the raunchy mommy porn flick, don't you think? Surprisingly, Hill hasn't been previously mentioned in "50 Shades" talks, but it's clear that he's the Christian we've been looking for all along, right?
Well, maybe not, so it's a good thing the whole bit was a hoax. Hill called Watson made fun of Watson and her recent "50 Shades" rumors on national television while praising her for her Trailblazer award at the MTV Movie Awards.
"I'm announcing officially that we'll be starring in the screen adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey," Hill said. "My safety word is tangerine. If I say that word you have to stop doing stuff to me."
All jokes aside however, there has been some actual activity on the casting front. It's now rumored that Allison Williams from HBO's hit series "Girls" is now in the running for the role of Anastasia Steele. She does have the enchanting looks and the dazzling blue eyes, but is she seductive enough to play Ana?
It's hard to say. Fans are only familiar with her role as Marnie Michaels on "Girls." Marnie is a young, robust woman who's having trouble finding herself after graduating college and is not afraid of expressing her woes and sorrows to everyone all the time. This isn't necessarily characteristic of our innocent, quiet little Anastasia. However, although Marnie may not be right for "50 Shades," that doesn't mean that Williams isn't either. This may be her opportunity to prove that she's a capable actress who's ready to break into film. Here's brief clip of Williams acting a bit more Ana-like.
There's still no official word from either Universal Studios or E. L. James as we hang on by a thread for a casting decision. All we can do is wait and pray that the "50 Shades of Grey" Gods will answer our prayers.
