The MTV movie awards were presented on April 14th. Like every year, the awards started off with a film skit. James Franco appeared telling Rebel Wilson she was the chosen one to host the MTV Movie Awards. During the video Wilson dressed as Iron Man where she entered into the awards venue as Iron Man falling to the ground.
Once Wilson stood up, she started singing and was joined by dancers. During her dance they showed different clips of the nominated films.
The first award Best Male Actor was presented by Melissa McCarthy. Bradley Cooper won the award and thanked Jennifer Lawrence, Harvey Weinstein and David O. Russell. He said the coolest thing about playing the role was to meet all the people suffering from post dramatic stress and speaking to them.
The next award was the award for Best WTF Moment which was presented by Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. The award went to Jaime Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson for "Django Unchained." Both actors were present and Foxx thanked Jackson for being the worst actor in the world. Jackson then thanked director Quentin Tarentino and the fans.
Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Zachary Quinto presented the Best Fight accolade after showing a clip from the new "Star Trek Film." The award went to "The Avengers." Stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Joss Wheedon and Chris Evans accepted. Jackson thanked Wheedon while Hiddleston said he was happy to be beat up.
Eddie Redmayne and Logan Lerman then presented the evening's Trailblazer award to Emma Watson. Jonah Hill also appeared on screen and joked about starring with Watson on "50 Shades of Grey." Watson thanked her fans and her supporters and promised she would continue to do the best work possible.
Amanda Seyfried and Steve Carrell then presented the Best Kiss award. Jennifer Lawrence and Cooper won for "Silver Linings Playbook." He started out by saying that Lawrence was not there and said the movie would not have had a life without the fans.
Snoop Lion and Ke$ha, who appeared on stage smoking, then presented the first musical performance of the night. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed their new single "Can't Hold Us."
"Games of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage then presented the Comedic Genius award to Will Ferrell. Ferrell entered with a dollar bill suit and thanked MTV for the award. He said he had two simple dreams in life, "One was to dress like Dennis Rodman and the other was to make people laugh every day." He also thanked the fans and joked stating that he would fight anyone after the show who did not like him. He then thanked his family but instead brought up an Asian family.
After showing a clip from "Fast and Furious 6," Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, and Jordana Brewster appeared to present Breakthrough Performance. The award was given to host Wilson for her role in "Pitch Perfect." She joked and said that she only did movies for the awards and for cash. Wilson then said she was touched.
Danny McBride, Zac Efron and Seth Rogan next presented Best Shirtless performance. Taylor Lautner took home the award and went up with a pillow in his shirt pretending to be fat. Lautner thanked his fans and said he turned 21 and had been drinking a lot. He then joked that the shirtless award was like winning an Oscar.
The awards then showed an exclusive clip from "Iron Man 3."
Quvenzhane Wallis and Chloe Grace Moretz next presented Best Villain. Tom Hiddleston won for his role as Loki in "The Avengers" and said he felt an enormous "Gratitude." He thanked director Wheedon and his fellow co-stars. He also thanked Liam Payne from One Direction, who named his dog Loki.
Kim Kardashian then presented Selena Gomez who performed her new single "Come and Get it."
The award for Best Hero was given to Bilbo from "The Hobbit."
Kerry Washington had the honor of handing the Generation award to Jamie Foxx. Foxx thanked his mother, father and sisters. He also thanked his daughter and said she was the light of his eyes. He thanked the actors and directors he had worked with. He finally thanked MTV and told the young generation to continue to push themselves.
Liam Hemsworth next introduced the new teaser trailer to "The Hunger Gamers: Catching Fire," which was making its world premiere.
The Best Musical Moment award was then given to the cast of "Pitch Perfect." The cast thanked the fans, Universal, the director Jason Moore and the producers of the film.
After showing a clip from World War Z, Brad Pitt handed out the Movie of the Year. "The Avengers" won the award and director Wheedon and his cast accepted. Wheedon said he was humbled to win the award. He thanked the fans, and his family as well as the producers and the actors who worked on the film. He also announced that the sequel will be released in 2015.
Wilson wrapped the show up in her Iron Man suit.
