We can never get enough superheroes. They represent to good of humanity, the saving grace, the glimmer of light in a world otherwise shrouded in darkness. And what better way to portray our heroes than on the big screen? One of our most beloved charlatans, Spider-Man, will be making his way to Hollywood once again. The "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is now in its early stages and is headed to Rochester, New York.
Production will begin on April 30 in Monroe County, and although it comes as splendid news for the rest of us, it may prove daunting for Rochester citizens.
"Action sequences will be shot on Main Street between South Plymouth Avenue and East Avenue, with portions of Main Street closed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day until filming concludes, as late as May 9, officials said," the Rochester Business Journal reports.
For those living in the area, keep an eye out for an action-packed car chase scene that's set to take place along the city's mentioned avenues, and be sure to steer clear, as you could find yourself in a very dangerous situation. Then again, Spider-Man will be right around the corner should you be caught amidst the peril.
Not all is lost for the humble citizens of Rochester. If you'd like to star in the film, Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. is looking for men and women ages 18 to 80 of all ethnicities to serve as extras. If interested, send your name, a photo, the year, make and model of your car, and your contact information to rochester@gwcny.com.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" sequel stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, who finds himself caught between his duties as the city's savior and the love of his life, Gwen (Emma Stone). To add to his mounting stress, high school graduation is right around the corner. Although he previously promised Gwen's father that he would stay away from his daughter in order to keep her safe from the dangers that are attached to the Spider-Man name, he simply can't resist her tender embrace. As he tries to pick up the pieces of his own life, the return of his old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) and the rise of a new villain, Electro (Jaime Foxx), make things more difficult than he originally planned.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" will hit theaters on May 2, 2014. That's a far ways off, but for those of us who are itching for our next fix of superhero madness, "Iron Man 3" debuts May 3, followed by the June 14 release of "Man of Steel." This summer belongs to the heroes.
