Fans of 'The Vampire Dairies' Jeremy, played by Steven R. McQueen, can rejoice at the news that the actor will be making his return back to the CW staple later this season. TVLine reported last week that the youngest Gilbert will return to the show after being killed off in February thanks to Katherine (Nina Dobrev).
However, it remains unclear whether McQueen will return as Jeremy himself or whether he will portray immortal Silas in the body of Elena's (Nina Dobrev) little brother. According to TVLine, there is also the possibility that Jeremy's ex-girlfriend and witch Bonnie (Kat Graham) will actually act on her promise to take down the veil separating the other side to bring Jeremy back from the dead. The entertainment site added that a source revealed "we might see a few familiar faces 'drop in' before Season 4 ends on May 16."
The CW series has been in a brief hiatus while its spinoff series, 'The Originals,' airs some episodes. The potential spinoff, which features Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies), takes place in New Orleans where the three immortal siblings head down for an investigation. According to TVLine, Rebekah and Elijah follow brother Klaus down to the Big Easy when he discovers there is a plot against him by his former protégé Marcel (guest star Charles Michael Davis) and witch Sophie (Daniella Pineda).
'The Vampire Diaries' S4E19, entitled "Pictures of You," will air on Thursday, April 18 at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
