The line up has been officially released for Lollapalooza 2013, so take note, music lovers. Tickets and schedules have been made available for the weekend-long summer music festival in Chicago's Grant Park.
Some of the top names on the roster include The Cure, Mumford & Sons, the Killers, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix. Newly restored headliners Nine Inch Nails and the Postal Service will be appearing as well. Many of these bands have been the subject of a lot of speculation in the months before the announcement last week, and some of those fans who have been hoping that their favorite bands will be appearing are sure to be pleased that most of the rumors were correct.
Other popular acts appearing include The Lumineers, Kendrick Lamar, New Order, Eric Church, Knife Party, Steve Aoki, Ellie Goulding, Thievery Corporation, Grizzly Bear, Flux Pavilion, Band of Horses, Major Lazer, Hot Chip, Azealia Banks, Local Natives, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles, and Dada Life.
Friday, August 2, sets off the event with headliners the Killers and come Nine Inch Nails performing. Nine Inch Nails performed at the first Loolapalooza in 1991, and this will be part of their comeback tour. Veteran group Queens of the Stone Age and 2012 pop-rock sensation and performer of the theme to the upcoming movie, The Great Gatsby, Lana Del Rey will be appearing as well.
On Saturday, Mumford & Sons, who appeared in a midday show during Lollapalooza 2010, will be topping the bill, along with the Postal Service, the National, and the Lumineers.
The weekend closes with The Cure, which in its long history as a hit rock band has never actually performed at Lollapalooza. They'll be backed by Phoenix and Vampire weekend, along with a long list of groups that will perform throughout the day, which includes those perennial twins of indie rock, Tegan and Sara.
