Variety is reporting that Electra and Elise Avellan are set to reprise their roles in "Machete Kills."
The Avellan twins who have starred in Quentin Tarentino's "Death Proof" and "Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror," will reprise the roles of nurses Mona and Lisa. The twins will join the previously announced Charlie Sheen, Sofia Vergara, Edward James Olmos, Mel Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Demian Bichir, Zoe Saldana, and of course Danny Trejo. Robert Rodriguez will direct the sequel, which will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.
"Machete Kills" follows the titular ex-federale (Danny Trejo) recruited by the U.S. president (Charlie Sheen) to stop a terrorist named Mendez the Madman, who happens to be Mexico's leading cartel dealer. Mel Gibson is set to co-star as Luther Voz, a cunning arms dealer and death merchant who aims to spread war across the planet by launching a missile.
A Quick Draw production, "Machete Kills" is being financed by Alexander Rodnyansky, who is producing with Rodriguez. Other producers include Quick Draw's Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic, as well as Sergei Bespalov and Rick Schwartz.Machete Kills is set to hit theaters in 2013.
