Is Lex Luthor in the upcoming "Man of Steel?"

Despite confirmations that General Zod is the main villain in the film, it is also possible that Luther could very well make an appearance; there is even an actor that could be linked to him.

According to Ain't It Cool News, Mackenzie Gray may be making an appearance as the bald super villain in Zak Snyder's new movie.

"Lots of people have been wondering if LEX LUTHOR was going to be in MAN OF STEEL.

The answer is apparently a very loud YES. Not only that the tone that Nolan/Goyer/Snyder are going for with the character is not the silly goofy Hackman Luthor... But an ambitious, ego driven and cold version of Luthor," writes the publication.

They add that Gray starred as Luthor in the TV series "Smallville" and could very well reprise the role in the film. Gray himself has confirmed his appearance in "Man of Steel" but has made no revelation of whom he is. On his website Gray wrote, "“People talk, but I don’t… Keeping it all a secret until the film opens June 14…”

A statement from screenwriter David Goyer furthered the rumor's viability.

"I don't think anyone has every confirmed that we haven't included him," said Goyer in an interview with IAR. Goyer and Producer Christopher Nolan have been secretive about revealing identities of major villains in their past collaborations on the Dark Knight trilogy. They did not make mentions of whether Harvey Dent would become Two Face in "The Dark Knight" (which he did) and they were more hushed about the appearance of Marion Cotillard as Talia Al Ghul (she also appeared). Goyer's statement in the interview is cryptic at best and suggests that Lex Luther may very well be a part of the upcoming film.

What do you think? Will Luthor make an appearance in the new Superman movie?
