Earlier the week, rumors hinted that the anticipated "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" trailer would premiere during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Well, those rumors have just been confirmed. MTV "will exclusively debut the never-before-seen official teaser trailer for the long awaited awaited second installment of Lionsgate's Hunger Games film franchise," on Sunday, April 14, according to their official press release.

What's even more exciting is that a brief teaser featuring unreleased footage from "Catching Fire" has already leaked, offering avid fans a quick glimpse of what they'll see during the MTV Movie Awards. "Hunger Games'" star Liam Hemsworth, or Gale, will take the stage on April 14 to introduce the coveted trailer and offer some wise "Catching Fire" words of wisdom.

Following its official MTV release, the trailer will be available for the world's viewing pleasure at thehungergamesexplorer.com.

The wait is over folks. Well, not entirely. We still have a week and a half to wait for the trailer, but at least we have a set date. After that, it's only seven months until "Catching Fire" hits theaters! Sigh.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" begins as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone. Lionsgate will release "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" on November 22, 2013.
