The rumored, leaked, debated, whatever you want to call it Lollapalooza lineup has officially been confirmed. This time, it's a sure thing. Not only has the full lineup been released, but the day-to-day schedule has also been posted, providing fans with the early opportunity to plan out their festival weekend.
The Killers, Mumford & Sons and The Cure will headline the three-day Chicago festival. The show will mark The Cure's first time playing one of summer's most popular festivals. The announcement appeased the many fans that will finally have the opportunity to see one of British pop's most legendary bands perform.
"The first time I ran into Robert Smith of The Cure was 1997 in New York City," festival founder and Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell says in a media release. "It was Halloween. I was dressed as myself and so was he. I am so happy The Cure have finally arrived at Lolla in Chicago!"
Other big names on the bill include Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, The Lumineers, Vampire Weekend and The Postal Service, among others. Nine Inch Nails will make the stop in Chicago during their first tour in four years. The band originally performed at Lollapalooza back in 1991.
