American Idol alum Jessica Sanchez will begin filming her highly-anticipated role on the hit series Glee in April. The 17-year-old singer will be featured in two episodes which includes the season finale on May 9.
“I’m playing a student from a rival school who is supposed to be a legendary diva – a powerhouse singer,” the season 11 Idol contestant told PEOPLE in an interview on March 20.
She added, “It’s going to be a very busy month for me. I’m very excited because I’ve never acted before. I really want to meet [Naya Rivera]. She’s got that attitude and I love it.”
The teen singer is also gearing up for the release of her debut album “Me, You and The Music” which is scheduled to drop on April 30, 2013.
However, when Jessica’s not working on her career, she says she finds time to spend with her boyfriend, fellow season 11 contestant 18-year-old DeAndre Brackensick.
“We have a balance,” Jessica said of her relationship. “We understand each other’s schedules so it is not so needy. It’s very good.”
When asked in December about rumors that will play Finn’s love interest on Glee, Jessica told HollywoodLife.com, “Yeah, my Mom and my friends tell me, everyone tells me that I am going to be Finn’s love interest! I am very excited if that happens! It would definitely be the role to play!”
Jessica's single Tonight" is the first song off her upcoming album which she promises to be upbeat. She told Yahoo! that making the album made her want to "dance [her] booty off."
