Harrison Ford recently hinted that he would be involved in the upcoming "Star Wars" sequels, but he refused to speak about the subject during while doing press rounds for his upcoming movie "42."
"I don't feel anything at the moment yet," the 70-year old thespian replied when asked how he felt about the sequels and spinoffs of the films that launched his career.
As the interview progressed, he was asked if he had spoken with director J.J. Abrams about his role in the film. Ford replied, "About what?"
Franchise creator George Lucas recently revealed Ford's involvement in the sequels during an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek. "We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison -- or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on," Lucas said. According to Screen Crush, when Ford was asked about this statement, "the star made the zipping-my-lips sign."
When asked what it would take to reprise the role of Han Solo, Ford replied, "Um, I don't even want to discuss that. It's great. Ain't it great?"
He was however willing to comment on director Abrams. "I think he's fantastic," Ford said. "I did his first movie, Regarding Henry, with Mike Nichols. A wonderful talent. Extraordinary guy."
While in Chicago, Ford had already commented on his participation in the upcoming film. "I think it's almost true. I think... I'm looking forward to it. It's not in the bag yet, but I think it's happening," He stated.
Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, has been more vocal and revealed a few weeks ago that "They're talking to us. George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts - they would write us out. ... I can tell you right away that we haven't signed any contracts. We're in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed -- on their end, not mine. They're more busy than I am."
In addition to Ford's comments, illustrator Adam Schickling recently unveiled a fan poster of the upcoming film. Check it out above.
