As if we needed any more shades of grey, another heavy dose of 'Mommy Porn' erotica may be on its way. Not only has "Till Human Voices Wake Us" been getting critics' attention for its comparison to "50 Shades of Grey," the author alone will help launch the book to the public realm.

Patti Davis, the daughter of Ronald Reagan, has just finished writing her novel. "Till Human Voices Wake Us" has been pinned many different ways, all of which she hopes to clarify. Despite rumors, the author assures fans that her book is neither the new "50 Shades of Grey" nor an autobiography. It may be a love story and it may include erotic themes, but that's not the focus of her work.

"This is not me," she said. "None of it is autobiographical. I didn't want to write 'Fifty Shades of' whatever. It's a love story."

Regardless of the affirmations, certain excerpts from the book do sound slightly "50 Shades-esque."

"She knew my body long before she 'knew' it in the biblical sense. She stood beside me as I studied my naked self in a full-length mirror a week after giving birth to Nathan. 'Oh my God,' I moaned, lifting up the loose skin across my abdomen. 'I'm a bloodhound.'"

Here's a comparative clip from "50 Shades of Grey."

"Sitting beside me, he gently pulls my sweatpants down. Up and down like a whore's drawers my subconscious remarks bitterly. In my head, I tell her where to go. Christian squirts baby oil into his hand and then rubs my behind with careful tenderness - from makeup remover to soothing balm for a spanked ass, who would have thought it was such a versatile liquid."

Davis self-published the novel as an e-book, as she felt that it "was too much of a departure for publishers to wrap their heads around. Most writers have books they have labored over for years and long to put out into the world. 'Till Human Voices Wake Us' is one of those books," she said.

In the Reagan family, the apple does indeed fall far from the tree. Be sure to pick up your own copy of "Till Human Voices Wake Us" on Amazon to read on.
