Jarome Iginla, the hottest topic surrounding the NHL trade deadline, has submitted a list of the four teams he would like to be traded to.

The four teams include the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Boston Bruins, the Los Angeles Kings, and the Chicago Blackhawks. The list solidifies the assumption that Iginla will only go to a major Stanley Cup contender; the four teams listed are in fact that last four Stanley Cup champions.

Pittsburgh has been a hotly rumored destination for Iginla since he had a strong relationship with Sidney Crosby during the Olympics back in 2010 and could provide an elite scorer to the already top-end roster. However, as this writer previously expressed, Iginla may not be necessary to a team whose greater need is on defense and not offense. The likelihood of Pittsburgh has diminished all the more with the recent acquisition of two way forward Brendan Morrow. Morrow is a veteran presence that gives the Penguins an edge in their own zone. The Penguins won the Cup back in 2009 and are looking like a major contender as they currently lead the Eastern Conference with 48 points.

The Bruins present an interesting proposition. The team is two years removed from its 2011 Stanley Cup championship and is known for its physical play. Offense hasn't really been an issue for Boston; they are 11th in the league in goals scored with 86. However, Iginla's scoring prowess coupled with his physical presence and willingness to drop the gloves makes him a perfect addition to Boston's system.

The Chicago Blackhawks won the Cup back in 2010 and are currently the top team in hockey with 51 points. The team is the second best scoring team in the league with 102 goals, but the team would certainly love to have the grit and intensity that Iginla brings. Chicago is a potential destination, but since it is a Western Conference squad, Calgary's asking price could be high.

The Los Angeles Kings won the Cup last year and are currently fighting to maintain a playoff position. Unlike last year when the team acquired Jeff Carter at the deadline, offense has not been an issue as the Kings are 10th in goals scored with 88. Reports indicate that the Kings are picking up steam in the Iginla sweepstakes but their asking price would likely include goalie Jonathan Bernier.

The deadline will come on April 3rd.
