In the wake of the Emma Watson "50 Shades of Grey" excitement, fans are taking a break from Anastasia Steele hype and turning toward Christian Grey. Earlier this week, Jessie Pavelka talked about his interest in the role and thanked "50 Shades" fans for all their support, but on the drop of a dime, the focus has shifted. What else is new?
Now, "Arrow" actor Stephen Amell confirmed in a recent video Facebook post that he is being considered as our lovely Christian Grey.
"I get questions about Christian Grey all the time. That project is a long way off. I know this, because I had a meeting about it," he told his fans in his video. "A long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn't call it long, but I wouldn't call it close." Wise words, Amell. Christian Grey or not, I think we've found our modern day Shakespeare.
Universal Studios and E. L. James have confirmed that the movie will hit theaters in summer 2014, so although they may not have chosen their Mr. Grey, the decision can't be too far away. It's not close, but it's not far.
We've heard similar news from Jessie Pavelka, "Vampire Diaries" Ian Somerhalder and Ryan Gosling, who unfortunately may be out of the picture after he recently announced his hiatus from acting.
No one knows who will grace the big screen as the sex-crazed Christian Grey. All fans can do is speculate. How many more potential Ana and Christian candidates must we drool over before a decision is made?
