It's amazing how Jake Davidson has risen to fame as the luckiest teen ever by getting swimsuit model Kate Upton to consider being his date for prom. And it all started with a video.
The 17-year-old high school senior posted a creative homemade video inviting the two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl to his prom in LA this May.
After the 20-year-old model saw the video, she tweeted at Davidson and told him she'd check her schedule.
"You can call me Katie if you want!" the blonde, buxom model tweeted to Davidson, who asked (while taking a shower) in the video whether to call her "Kate" or "Katie." "How could I turn down that video! I'll check my schedule ;)" she wrote.
However, along with a tweet, the teen also got a chance to speak with Upton over the phone during his interview on NBC's "Today." While Davidson was talking to TV hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, the model dialed in and thanked him for making the video.
"It was so hilarious and so creative," she said leaving Davidson speechless. "Thank you so much for doing that, I really appreciate it."
Once he found his composure, Davidson told Upton, "This just got so much better now that you're on the phone. I'm telling you it will be a great night, great evening -- I could even get the curfew extended hopefully by my parents maybe. We could go to a great dinner before. I hope you'd be interested if your schedule is free, and what time should I pick you up if you are interested?"
