David O. Russell's current project currently filming in Boston has added Elisabeth Rohm to the cast.
Rohm is currently in negotiations to star in the film as Jeremy Renner's wife.
The movie, currently known as "Abscam Project," is based on the true story of a notorious financial con artist (Christian Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Amy Adams), who were forced to work with an out of control federal agent (Bradley Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.
As aforementioned Russell is currently in production in Boston. Recently Jennifer Lawrence was spotted on set and Bradley Cooper was spotted with his new girlfriend. Producer Megan Ellison also tweeted that "principal photography began Sunday, so breathe easy -- this film is really happening."
The film has been scheduled for December in the midst of awards season and after Russell's past two Oscar nominations pundits have predicted it as a major 2014 Oscar Contender.
"Abscam" will reunite Lawrence and Cooper after "Silver Linings Playbook" and reunites Bale and Adams from "The Fighter." Russell has led seven actors to nominations including Lawrence, Cooper, Bale, and Adams with Lawrence and Bale winning. As a result all four actors are sure to garner buzz for the film; don't count out former Oscar nominee Renner either. Rohm's edition could also potentially garner the actress a nomination if the part is large enough.
Rohm is best known for her work on "One Life to Live" and "Law and Order." She has also starred in "The Client List."
The film was written by Eric Singer and Sony Pictures is set for a limited release on December 13th before going wide on Christmas.
