Uh, oh. There's trouble in paradise for rock star couple Katy Perry and John Mayer, again.
New reports say that the celebrity couple, who began dating last summer, has split up for the second time.
According to US Weekly, a number of sources have confirmed that the songstress and singer have broken up. "It's sad," an insider told Us, but thinking more optimistically added, "It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out." Another source said, "She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."
The pair's second split comes as a surprise as Mayor seemed more than content in recent interviews. The 35-year-old "Gravity" gushed about Perry stating in January during a 60 Minutes interview that he is "very happy in all aspects of my life." He also told Rolling Stone in January that he's been "quite happy" in his relationship with the "Hot N Cold" singer, and told CBS' "Sunday Morning" in February that for the first time in his life, he didn't feel like he was in a celebrity relationship.
On March 2, Perry posted, "My boyfriend is taking me to a kitten shelter in his truck," she tweeted. "I can't think of a more perfect Saturday."
Earlier this year, the hot Hollywood item attended President Obama's inauguration together and were seen cuddling at the Grammy Awards. Mayor even gave "Fireworks" songstress a ring that sparked engagement rumors.
According to Us Weekly, insiders blamed the couple's careers form demanding too much attention, as Mayer is preparing for upcoming tour dates and Perry is working on her third album.
The singers first took a break in August 2012, but quickly got back together the next month.
