Saoirse Ronan has joined Ryan Gosling's directional debut "How to Catch a Monster."
The Academy Award nominated actress told the Hollywood Reporter that she was excited for the project but could not reveal anything about her character. She stated "I think it's going to be very experimental and I think Ryan is going to be very supportive as a director, just because he's an actor as well and he gets it. From what he's been telling me about the approach he wants to take, he wants us to really discover these characters ourselves and use our imaginations to create these characters."
Ronan added ""He's already written great characters on the page, but he wants us to develop those even more as people. I like that he's put so much trust in his actors to do that. I think it'll be really fun and really cool."
Ronan also spoke about her work on Wes Anderson's latest film "The Grand Budapest Hotel" which she stated "was brilliant. You're basically just stepping into Wes' world, and that's it... You feel like you're becoming a part of that family for a certain amount of time."
The actress is currently promoting her new film "The Host" and will later be seen in "Byzantium." She is best known for her work on "Atonement," "The Lovely Bones" and "Hanna."
Gosling was last seen in "Gangster Squad" and will next appear in "The Place Beyond the Pines." He will also be seen in "Only God Forgives" with Kristen Scott Thomas this fall.
"How to Catch a Monster" also stars Eva Mendes, Christina Hendricks, and Ben Mendelsohn and is set to start rehearsals next month. Filming is expected to being in May.
