It all makes sense now!
Singer/actress Miley Cyrus finally came clean as to why she has not been wearing her engagement ring.
No, it's not because her relationship with her finance Liam Hemsworth is on the rocks. Nor is an act of spite due to rumors that Hemsworth cheated on her with model/actress January Jones last month.
Nope, the media was wrong. Well, maybe not about everything, but there's a perfectly acceptable reason as to why the former Disney star has been spotted without her 3.5 karat engagement ring this month.
On Thursday, Cyrus' back-up singer Lindsey Lee tweeted, "had to send off my engagement ring today to get fixed... one of the little diamonds fell out... I feel naked without it :( so sad!"
Miley replied, "ugh that's the worst! I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off."
"OMG that sucks! people just need to mind their own business," Lee wrote in response. "I saw first hand how happy u & Liam are don't let them get to u!
The singer/actress also denied calling off her wedding to the "Hunger Games" star on Twitter last Wednesday.
While the "Party In The U.S.A." singer is currently in the U.S., Hemsworth has been spending time abroad in a new bachelor pad in Australia before he arrived in Manila, Philippines on Friday where he was making promotional appearances as the face of the Bench clothing line, according to the brand's Instagram account.
