Talk about being late for work....
Last night during the kick off to the "American Idol" Top 10 live performance show, "Idol" judge Nicki Minaj arrived late to the set, 13 minutes after the broadcast already began. As a result, TV host Ryan Seacrest was forced to start the show by introducing three of the four judges, excluding the "Super Bass" singer.
"We are coming to you live and on time ... keep that energy going for three of your four judges who are here tonight," said Seacrest taking a jab at the tardy pop singer. "I hear she's seven minutes out and there's some congestion on the 405 ... she should be here momentarily."
Later, the host sat in Minaj's "Idol" chair and tried to kill time by cracking a few jokes. "Which one of you judges gave Nicki the wrong directions to the studio today?" Ryan quipped. "Who drained the fuel from her car?"
Not only was Nicki almost 15 minutes late, fully missing the first performance of the night, but she was noticeably dressed down for the night as well. She arrived wearing simply a dark hoodie sweatshirt, with the hood pulled up and dark shades.
In addition, she failed to acknowledge her lateness while on the show. Instead, she sent out a tweet stating that she was "stuck in traffic." However, E! News reported that they overheard Seacrest say they'd have to make up an excuse for her tardiness. If they did, then Nicki was on board with the lie as well.
